I sang two songs at Loris First Baptist Church at this morning's service. The church is a beautiful church in the old town area on Main Street. I met some lovely people this morning and I am looking forward to singing a concert this evening. If you are in the area, please come see me. The service starts at 6:00 pm.

LAST SUNDAY WAS AWESOME

Just got back from South Hill, VA where I sang Sunday at the South Hill UM Church. Details are in my last blog. Cathy Hendrick was the featured speaker. What a service! It was awesome. The Holy Spirit was there throughout the service. I sure wish everyone could hear Cathy's story. She is a blessing to all who hear her.

CATHY HENDRICK TO SPEAK IN SOUTH HILL,VA

When: Sunday, May 15, 2011 10:45 am

Where: South Hill United Methodist Church

105 Franklin St. (at N. Mecklenburg)- South Hill, VA

I'm getting real excited about traveling to South Hill, VA this weekend to sing when Cathy Hendrick, the featured speaker, gives her presentation. Cathy will share her story of faith in the midst of tragedy. Cathy is the widow of John Hendrick, who was the President of Hendrick Motorsports. She is also the mother of Jennifer and Kimberly, who died on October 24, 2004, in a plane crash on their way to a NASCAR race in Martinsville, VA, along with their father, John. If you have never heard her story, please try to attend. You will surely receive a blessing!

I will be singing a few songs before and after Cathy speaks. Hope to see you there!

TO MY FRIENDS IN JAPAN

Back in 1998, I traveled to Japan where I gave 7 concerts in 7 different cities. It was an awesome trip, and I met so many wonderful gracious people. My heart is broken because of the disasters that have hit that beautiful country. My thoughts and prayers are with all of Japan.

TOURETTE'S SYNDROME

I have Tourette's Syndrome, and often wonder why more people don't know what it is. It is a neurological disorder that causes the person to have involuntary movements and/or vocalizations. It's kind of like a short circuit in the brain. If you hear someone yell out, or maybe screaming the word, "hey", when you are in a store or other place, that probably is me (or someone else who has Tourette's). It's O.K. to look the one time, but after the first look, please stop staring. It makes it really hard for me because when someone doesn't understand Tourette's it increases my movements or vocalizations. There are many people who suffer from Tourettes, and it would be such a blessing for those of us who have it, to get some understanding from the public. After you figure out that we have Tourette's then give us a smile. That would make all the difference in the world.
